Does your commercial refrigerator make unusual noises at certain intervals? Do you find water leaking inside your fridge or on the floor around it? These are signs of a malfunctioning refrigerator. If you think these are minor problems and can go without being addressed, leaving the problems to be fixed ‘later on’ can cause severe damage to your commercial refrigerator.

Here are easy solutions to remedy problems:

  • Temperature Instability: You may find the temperature is either too low or too high, the food either freezes or gets stale… this is a sign that you have not set the correct temperature as per the required to keep your groceries refrigerated. So first you need to set the temperature using the knob. If the problem still persists, check the condenser coil that is located on the back side. Sometimes the dust and debris get accumulated on the coil and affects its cooling efficiency.
  • Leakage Issue: The water leakage not only increases the probability of short-circuiting but also damages the floor. The first thing you need to do is to check the condensing defrost tray. Tilted or damaged trays lead to water lingering on the floor. If leakage is found inside the refrigerator, check the water lines of water or ice dispenser. Malfunctioning of humidity control can lead to internal water leakage.
  • Excessive Noise: A small amount of noise is normal, but irregular and excessive noise indicates abnormal functioning of your commercial refrigerator. Banging or rattling noise coming from the backside of the refrigerator indicates that you may have loose compressor or fan. Try loosening the screw that holds condensing defrost tray if the sound originates from underneath or front side of the refrigerator. Sputtering noise indicates the refrigerator is in defrost mode and you do not need to worry about it at all.
  • Refrigerator Failure: The power issue can lead to failure in the running of the commercial refrigerator. Check if it is plugged properly into the socket. If the light inside the refrigerator doesn’t turn on, it means the power is not reaching. In that case, you need to check the wires and circuit properly. Condenser issues may lead to a decrease in cooling efficiency which in turn leads to a failure of the normal operation of your commercial refrigerator.
